Teacher Doubles Tennis Tournament a Success! 

We’re thrilled to share that the Lowcountry Youth Tennis Association’s Teacher Appreciation Doubles Tournament was a smashing success! COCO Visit 2025

Students, parents and staff from Dunston Elementary attended the Credit One Charleston Open (COCO) during Family Weekend on March 29, 2025. Everyone received free tickets to the event as well as lunch in one of the VIP suites. Everyone was able to go to all the activities including the Fun Zone and see professional women play in a WTA 500 event.

Week 3 NCSC – 2025

New players are attending lessons every week once they hear what fun it is. Players who attended the COCO tournament are playing with renewed enthusiasm now they have seen the professionals play. Some players are attending the 4pm practices and then switching over to advanced lessons at 5pm with Peggy Bachofner.

Students continue with their practices and games at the North Charleston Sports Complex. Students are working on their forehands, backhands and playing points in games. Meg gave the girls free tennis outfits and the boys got free t-shirts.

Congratulations to our Dunston Elementary parents, students, teachers and LYTA members who were able to attend LYTA’S first tennis lesson of the season at the North Charleston Sports Complex on March 21.  How cool is it to be playing at our new local courts?  The lessons are free and open to any K – 5 students from the local area.
