LYTA Coach of the Year 2017 – Darrell Wilson

(l-r) LYTA Board President, Bob Stevens and LYTA Coach of the Year, Darrell Wilson

Lambs Elementary School PE Teacher Darrell Wilson was named the Lowcountry Youth Tennis Association (LYTA) School Coach of the Year. The award was presented to Coach Wilson by LYTA Board Chair, Dr. Bob Stevens. In presenting the award Stevens recognized Coach Wilson’s work as a volunteer, “un-paid” tennis coach as well as a mentor for students who has a positive impact on the social and emotional growth of his students and players.

The award was presented at an “End of Year Team Celebration” on Saturday May 27th for the successful year of learning and playing tennis in the Tri-County School League. The celebration also provided an opportunity for parents to share the tennis experience with their children and see the progress they’ve made.
